The three-day forum featured a wide range of topics underscoring women's role in driving socioeconomic development and creating progressive and thriving societies.
During her panel, Twal commented on her experience as a female entrepreneur running the largest Jordanian public relations agency in the Kingdom, and offered insight on the reasons behind women's unique success in the Public Relations industry.
"Women are natural born communicators, enjoy instinctive emotional intelligence and naturally pay keen attention to detail, which makes them especially adept at gauging target audience sentiments - a vital skill in public relations," she said.
According to Twal, 85% of professionals working in the PR industry in the USA are women, while the figure in the UK stands at 64%.
In addition, Twal stressed on the importance of investing in social media and online communications because "the future of PR is online". Twal referred to studies which showed that by May 2012, there were 43 million Facebook users in the Middle East, and 1.3 million active Twitter users by March 2012.
Moreover, according to a 2011 forecast of newspaper consumption, print newspapers will "go extinct" the world-over by 2040, and much sooner in Arab countries such as the UAE and KSA.
While commenting on Bidaya's support to the forum as Ruby Sponsor, Twal said, "We're very proud to be able to contribute to such an important bellwether event. It is through large-scale platforms such as GTF 2012 that socio-political stances on women's roles can be changed and effective peer networking can be achieved. I would like to thank the GTF organizers for a job beautifully done. We certainly look forward to participating again in coming years."
