Tom Homer, the top point scorer in the Aviva Premiership last year, has extended his contract with London Irish for two more seasons.

Exiles' director of rugby Brian Smith is delighted that the 22-year-old full-back has committed his future to the club.

He said: "Tom is a world-class footballer and a future England player.

"He has a big-match temperament, an incredible boot and in my view is one of the most complete players in the Premiership.

"More important than all this is the fact that he?s an outstanding character and a future leader at this club.

"You?ll be hearing a lot more about Tommy Homer.

"He?s destined for great things with London Irish and England."

Homer was voted Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season as well as collecting the Premiership's Golden Boot in May after scoring 278 points in the league and 321 in total.

He is set to make his return to action in Sunday's LV= Cup game against holders Leicester Tigers after missing Irish's last six games due to a knee injury.

Homer said: ?I have enjoyed my time at London Irish since joining the club back in 2008.

"It is a great environment to train in and I love playing at Madejski Stadium.

"There are definitely good times ahead.?
