Vidtel?(News - Alert), the self-described ?world?s first videoconferencing cloud,? has teamed up with Austin-based VTEL, a videoconferencing manufacturer. VTEL?s products will work in accordance with Vidtel?s MeetMe service, allowing MeetMe to carry out business-grade multiparty videoconferencing via service providers the company was not originally affiliated with.
By adding VTEL as a partner, Vidtel can now operate its services with companies like Cisco, Google?(News - Alert), LifeSize, Polycom, Skype and other top-grade service providers and equipment vendors.
VTEL?s CEO Richard Ford explained why the partnership works well: ?Offering the low cost Vidtel multipoint videoconferencing service along with VTEL IPanels enables our end-users to dramatically reduce the capital expense required to implement an enterprise-wide professional quality videoconferencing solution.?
Additionally, Ford commented on the initial draw his company had for Vidtel, saying, ?VTEL has been growing rapidly over the last year due to our ability to provide a turnkey group videoconferencing system for under $5,000.?
Vidtel also felt the idea to partner was equally beneficial for both companies.
