Prairie Village resident Robert Magee and his Munchin? Hogs at the Hilton barbecue team keep smokin? up success.
The Hogs were named Grand Champions at the sixth annual ?Battle of the Brisket? competition at the Mission Arts and Eats Festival.
By scoring the highest combined total in judges? marks for their brisket, ribs, pork and chicken, the Hogs won a commemorative plaque, a ribbon, and ? oh, yeah ??a $1,500 cash prize. The honor also qualifies them to compete in the American Royal Barbecue Contest.
Magee is no stranger to accolades on the competitive barbecue circuit. A chef at the airport Hilton, he led the Hogs to the 2011KC Barbecue Society championship.
